It is heart warming to see positive news and especially a news item that empowers people to make a difference to our local community and the environment! In an age where many of the other TV networks are centralising news desks and reporting more on what’s happening in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra it is great to see Channel 7 is sticking to its guns and providing valuable local content.

Just recently I was talking with a new customer who had just signed up for our recycling scheme and I was somewhat surprised when he said “You should run for Mayor mate”. I replied at the time that he was very kind to say so, however I (and Owen) have our hands full right now with the Reward Recycling business! Later on when I was relating this conversation to my wife I realised just how much passion there is out there on the issue of recycling. People really are crying out for a sensible solution to the recycling dilemma and are not satisfied with what their local councils are currently providing. Everyone wants to do the right thing and they have good intentions. What they need is the support of a scheme like reward recycling to bring it all together and make it practical to sustain the effort in the longer term.
I was in conversation with another person recently about the scheme and they said that they thought it was a great idea to offer the $5 per bin reward option. He wanted to teach his children to value materials and recycling and a little bit about the value of money as well and he saw our scheme helping with that. With one of our bins, his children would be motivated to collect as many 10c recycling containers as they could from the local area and put it in their bin at home. Each time a full bin was taken away the kids would enjoy a feeling of satisfaction having earned some money by doing good for the community. Win win.
So keep up the good ideas and don’t be afraid to let us know why you value the reward recycling system. If you are a customer or would like to be and are in our current service area, then please do not hesitate to contact us on 0477 799 667 or email us at [email protected]. We would love to hear from you.
